Subject: rheumatoid arthritis
I like a glass of wine of an evening but religiously keep within the 2 units a day allowed. I take prednisolone low dose for many years but am conscious that I need to review my medication and due to see Rheumatologist. Is there any medication with allows alcohol ?

Hi Sally yes there is, any of the anti TNF Meds. But these meds are awfully expensive so you have to be really ill to get them.

hahaha @ Jill well i havent had a drink for 4 months didn't think we could on the meds so i asked the rhummy when i went last time and he said yes lol blimey gonna get a few bottles weekend lol xx

Drink is ok if only taking Anti TNFs. If you taking other drugs as well you better check with your rheumy.

So I am on MTX AND I can't drink then coz i am this meds then.. I was supposed to go to a food fest in sept.. and Now I feel like I am a KID.

Im on MTX and i drink wine....so go for it Brenda...I use to live on alchol b4 I got the correct Meds......Your Doc needs shoooting!!! im still angry that u were told U cant have Pain killers....wot a lot of rubbbish u were told!! lol gals....my norty twin is out at mo....she may come bk soon LOL

well donwa, thats my girl!! try take someone with u, if he flatly refuses ask y! take notes too incase u forget sum of the names mentioned... Honest Brenda, Ive never heard of someone being on MTX(that shos us u r bad to have been given that drug) and to think its not accompnied along with a decent painkiller is stoooooopid!! ask him for an urgent rhummy apppt.....also did u know that U can ring the rhummy Secretary and tell her your prob...she will get U in to clinc asap...welll she shld do....tell her U cant cope at all.....she will get u in to see him....if NOT I will ring her and ask whats going on....if U want my mobile Number, I will give it out to u on here....If I get any unwanted callls lol....I wll enjoy it!!! any nutters that ring me, will soon run off with their tail between their legs LOLOL...just ask me 4 it, u can have it , cant have u not having correct meds...

I will ring her also, i don't want you to give out your mobile number on here, but you are a big help to me.. I can't tell you how relieve i feel knowing I can have some pain killers to help with my pain.. coz I just started this MTX on yesterday, and I started to feel really down coz of the pain, and no WINE !! I love wine, so i can feel normal again..

remember Brenda, MTX take at leat 2/3months to kick in....take the MTX at night, I found that worked better for me, or i felt kinda sick in the day, and that made day harder to get thru.... so I take MTX and my Enbrel at night weekly....feel tied nxt two days, but I get terrible fatigue due to the Reiters disease i have....I find if i feel sick, nauseas etc, I eat Ginger nuts bicccies....fab ones at Lydls...or toast....does help the sick tumy feeling!

My mother always gives me toast to eat when I feel unwell :)

I was on sulphasalazine a while ago, and I was told nothing about no alchol, so I have some wine of course. But I am not logger taking this drug , I am on MTX now..

I drink on MTX on ocasions... sod it, go thru enuff Poo to not enjoy a little tipple....mind u, feeel tired more than eve nxt day, so its not a goood idea i guesss... hey ho
