Hi all

Yes, i am guilty, i do get night and day sweats. In fact i can get the sweats, just thinking about it. Sitting, standing, eating, it can be embarassing at times. I thought it was just me,i was at that funny age.

Hi monica I'm at that funny age. Going through the change my doc does not want me to go on HRT cos of the increased chance of cAncer. He asked me to think it over but if I really wanted it he would prescribe I decided not too but I've been going through this for over two years. I'm now wondering if it is also part of our illness as well. Lol

Hi Lynn
I took myself of HRT some years ago now, i was put on it at the age of 42, the grey period my gp that was told me then. Anyway i had enough after 8years, and come off like i said. Both my mother and sister who have now passed over had cancer. My sister just over 2years ago. Some swear by it others have to choose for themselves, what you feel is best for you. Take care

hi yes it can have side affects like all meds and doc keep an eye on me. but some times the affects of change can be very bad and help is needed and if u go through it to early u can get ostioperosis(got to be spelt wrong) the chances multplyed by a lot if u go through change early ,also messed with my head dont know if it was hormones or lack of sleep but would look at oh and not recognise him first off ect, ok now but will stop tabs when reach 50 and see how things go. periods had stopped but hrt has started them up again lol.u have to way up prose and cons as with all meds

Hi jill know what you mean about the heavy periods they offered me that hot treatment but they also offered me an alternative which was the mereia coil. I decided to go for that. It was four years ago. It stopped my periods completly. Had it removed three months ago still not had period. Lol
girls your right about the cancer risk with hrt. That's why I decided not to have it. My mum died of cancer at the age of 52yrs also

Okay...so most of you guys have /had heavy periods, and mine just don't happen at all!

As for the night sweats...I wake up sometimes at like 2-3:00 in the morning with them. So, naturally I open a window and go back to sleep. Then in the morning I wake up freezing! Silly really.

Hi jill had the same condiotion endrometriosis. They wanted to do that too me I said no so they offered to freeze it instead.. Does the same thing as boiling!! Eeekk. You know it didn't hurt at all. And it lasted for about a year before symtoms came back. Then I tried the mirea coil(soz guys) that worked best of all. No periods for four years. Now don't need anything menopause seen to that. But I do still get the sweats and palpitations though. Take care xx
