Subject: Joints locking up...

Does anyone else that has RA find that their joints lock up?

Mine have started doing it alot and its quite scary and really hurts. Its my fingers mainly butmy toes have been doing it too.

Im guessing its down to joint damage even thou i am on strong meds to try and stop any damage, my hands are still pretty deformed.

I just wondered if this happens to anyone else and if they have found anything to help... I dont know how to get the joints un locked so normally just have to wait until they go back in place... OUCH.

Yes bella Hi.. my fingers used to lock sometimes in the bent position. Thats called trigger finger. They can inject it with steroids and that usually sorts it for a while. Mt toes did also lock too same thing really as the hands. Have you got a rheumatologist. .. and what meds are you on?

Hey Belle. The only joint i've had seize is my right hip. It doesn't do it often, but kind of comes on and off in patches of time. one month i'll be fine, the next it'll happen every other day. It's agonising and chronic when you're outside walking or have been standing a while and suddenly you can't move. Thus far i've found nothingo stop it happening, which is more than a little disheartening. Like Lynne said above, speak to your rheumtologist and maybe try some steroid injections. Good luck!

With regards to your hip emma, that can probably do and injection there too. before i had my hip replaced i used to have an injection of steroids and it relieved it for a few months. worth asking you rheumy about it. Take care and dont forget to lol as much as possible.. we try to on here inbetween the screams lolololol
