I am in constant pain im swollen from my knucles, fingers, neck pain, knees, feet, wrists! I have been forced to leave my degree because i cudnt cope. I crnt do the normal things worst still ive lost my independance, i crnt open bottles, tur the tap on. I have a rhmertologist but we dont get on first meeting was not good, wen he found out i crnt swollow tablets n have a fear of needles! Im currently un-medicated because of this along with the complications of my heart n family history. Im currently suffering bad fatigue ive lost 2stone since december when the sympotms started!

Can anyone tell me if im likly to go back to normal? i want to finish my degree, regain independance. crnt even dress me my partner has had to become my f/t career at the moment.

Sorry to hear that vicky.. we are all different.. there is no straight easy answer to that one.. some of us go into remission with varying lengths of time.. sometime months.. sometimes years.. no telling unfortunatly.. Meds are the best option if you could manage them,, I know you said you can't take tabs or injections.. I"m wondering if you could get a liquid anti inflamatory I believe they give something like that to kids.. have another chat with your GP

Hi Vicky... r the docs going to fix your Fallots... my firends child had that, hes now perfick... I know there are 7 types of serious heart defects... You MUST re apply for DLA, U of all ppl deserve that, its unfair they r saying its becos of your heart that they wont allow u this.,..I wld have thought u had na better chance...Now that U have deleveloped R.A. the best treatments r the Meds your Rhummy decribed....becos they do help stop the degenration of joint breakdown...U really Must try and take them... they will support u and help u, this way U will almost certainily regain Independence... let us know how u ge on...come and scream if u wish

Love Jill x
