As a youngster never used them but as ive got older i can't sit in it for long i do use it in the beginning but i go brown quite quickly i always get confused about how often they should be applied. My hubby is a sun worshiper he lived in south africa cape town for years so he goes really brown as he was dark as a young man grey now like the rest of us lol i am as well under my hair dye dont let on hehe.

sorry to clarify on the sunblock/cream i do not suggest that you stop using sunblock/cream.
it is very usefull if you absolutely must use it say on the beach or if your out all day and need protection .
by far the best way to avoid problems with the sun is to not get burnt.
start out gradually and build up your resistance to its affects and always keep yourself from burning.
suncream is an effective product but its another chemical that we tip on our bodies in order to stay out in the sun longer.
thinking were protected from the sun because we have slapped the suncream on is sometimes dangerous as how do you know when its stopped protecting you?
you dont and therefore it can give us an unrealistic expectation of its capabilities.
we should all be aware of our limits but please do build up gently and think of the chemicals that your tipping on your biggest organ.
sorry i know it sounds like more world gone mad safety advice but in actual fact the best way of preventing skin cancer is by having a good ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 fats.
this is the case for all cancers but research does suggest that this can be a major source of skin cancer, sun or no sun.
so increase your omega 3's and cut your omega 6's and you cut your risk.

I use sunscreen everyday, through every season and even put it on after i've moisturized before bed. Basically always have it on. My skin is so smooth and hardly a wrinkle on it and i am convinced the sunscreen is the reason. I use factor 50+, L'oreal Expertise one. I get the Matt version so no shiny face lol. I'm a bit obsessed with it all to be honest but if it makes the skin look nice then no harm in it imo. I highly recommend wearing it and wouldn't be without it. I always buy mine when there is a 2 for 1 offers on at Boots or the supermarkets.
