Subject: hobbies
Ok while i'm sat here this morning early as its just to hot and i can't sleep thought i would start a new topic before i go back to bed. Ok what hobbies do you enjoy?, and do you still manage to do them or has the illness stopped you from being able to. I am actually an animal artist and have sold paintings all over the world, i also love making jewellery but gave it up a few years ago until about february this year and then i went and splashed out quite a bit buying all the beads again which are quite exspensive some of them but when this happened to my hands they have just been sitting there looking at me. So i can't wait until this flare up has gone so i can get back to doing the things i love how about anyone eles.

reading will read anything quite a face book fan(games mainly)used to sew a lot but not done much 4 couple of years work and arther seem to take up time also eyes not what they were. will have to think of something and make time 4 it(would love to b able to draw and paint)might start scribbleing again c where it gets me

I belong to facebook as well val kids got me into it maybe if you give me your full name i could add u we could chat on there as well lol.I like to read as well but haven't lately much as always felt so tired i used to have to always read before i went to sleep not lately though.what work do u do val do u find it hard having arthur and working?.

work in shop only do 4 hours (1 till 5)and yes when having flare up takes all my time to go to work especialy if feet bad. work in stationary and sell machines so lovely small family buisness great to work 4 (just as well)val harris sheffield area

Ive also got a part time job cleaning i only work 2 hours at night but i haven't been able to go to work for the last 7 weeks as u can imagine there is lifting and have to use hands but really struggling now money wise as i'm supervisor so it quite good money for the hours but really hope to go back soon. I actually work with my 2 daughters so they will be kind to me when i do go back just dont want to rush it and be off again.

take all the time u need as u say if u go back to soon will end up back at square one cleaning is hard work what kind of cleaning its good to have a reason to go out and talk to people poor customers keep them talking some days

its in a big factory quite an easy job really as i'm supervisor my job takes about an hour and then i just check girls are ok maily offices bins etc. val have u got your picture on facebook what have u got on if u have lol.

hi had to go look could not remember sunglasses pint pot in hand sun top (on holiday was very hot just had larger in glass out of freezer was lovely) gave half to oh cant drink that much would go down well at moment:-)

haha no it wouldn't would it i thought that one was u for some reason didnt want to get it wrong though and someone think im some weirdo adding them lol. oh think ill go and get anothe drink now and maybe try and go back to bed and sleep mind u its day light now lol but ill be shattered if i dont get some dont want to sleep through the day really puts my body clock right out.anyway been nice chatting with u val proberly speak later if im not asleep lol night x

Della that is a great topic U started, i would love to be able to paint, I wld love to see your work also, I have always enjoyed drawing and sribbling stuff, loved art at school etc... but never gifted like u r...I appreciate artwork, something like artwork makes u feeel goood when u lok at it...u msut have some lovely work on your walls at home, how incredilbe that your work is all over the world! OMG your famous lol... I read, nowt that exciting, swimming was my thing... and walking, in the gtood aol days, oh yes and canoeing, did that when ever I cld, sadly cant now, still got my kayak tho... anyway Im on facebook too, and if u ever want to(dont know how we can exchange names etc on here) I can be reached on facebook too... mind u the pic of me is Wubbbish! lol x

Me to Jill I used to love hiking in the lakes, also did some rock climbing in my twenties, sadly those days are well past. Have recently taken up making stained glass windows although I'm still not that good at it yet. Got the same problem as you Della, have flare ups in my hands so I can't touch it for months. So I don't get as much practice as I would like.

Jill a little start up expence for tool, kit , glass etc. then as with any hobby as much as you are prepared to spend.. The windows in the churches are often painted onto stain glass.. I don't do that kind..I do the kind that makes patterns or flowers purely out of coloured glass. Makes me hand hurt though. Not to mention handling the glass with bare hands you tend to go through a lot of plasters. ouch

Hi Kristin, havnt seen u on here b4, Welcome to the mad house lol....we r supportive where we can be, and love to help others, may I ask you what type u suffer from? i have Inflam Arthritis...same treatment tho 4 R. having said this, my esr rises sometimes during a flare up to 97, so my specialists were in conflict, one said i had R.A. the other said Inflam artha...anyway dont matter really cos treatments same....look forward to your messages Jill

Kristin yes of course, what country are u from.?.. I think its brilliant having ppl from different countries...the more the merrrier... plus we can learn lots from U too, how your doctors work etc, wot type meds(mb the same as Uk)? how r u coping daily Kristin, and is their a benefit system in your country? we can get Disability Living allowance, providing U can prove and show how bad u r with pain, and bad joints etc...look forward to your posts

I use to enjoy reading but i find books to heavy to hold up the majority of the time and too tired anyway. I also use to love being able to text my m8s (hardly a hobby but nm) now i dont even own a mobile its hard cuz of swollen fingers n i ended uo throwing my last one at the wall cuz i was so upset :(
