Subject: Big toe joint

Hi there
I have been diagnosed with arthritis of the big toe joint in my left foot recently and awaiting an appointment for a cortisone injection. Meanwhile I have had a flare up, mirror image and identical symptoms to what I experienced only 6 weeks ago in my left foot!!
I am very active, lots of walking when I can and work part time.

I managed to get an appointment for the most recent flare up, right big toe joint and the doctor said itās my body telling me itās giving up 😤
Quite frankly thatās not going to happen! Iām taking naproxen 500mg twice a day and soaking my foot in cold water for 10-15 minutes, plus elevation around twice a day for a couple of hours. Also taking turmeric once a day.

Please tell me is there anything else I can do as this recent flare up is on day 5 and still experiencing swelling and pain and stiffness in my big toe joint!!
