Subject: finger arhritus

I am seventy and for a couple of years experienced sharp pains lasting a second in my finger joints, they come on from nowhere some times and other times when using my fingers to push.
I read about the herb turmeric and took a capsule a day and in two days the spasmodic pains went but the pain when use my hands remains and is worse when cold, has anyone had experience of this and anyone use turmeric.
