Subject: Smoking

So i found out I had psoriatic arthritis, started the sulfasalazine, week later got covid, stopped, started sulfasalazine again once over covid a week later flu symptoms, short of breath, just felt bad. Should I not be smoking at all while taking this or have I just been alittle unlucky?
I'll be honest I'm not talking about cigarettes.
Be a shame if I had to not use it as it helps with pain, mood and its the only thing that makes me sleep, I've quit everything else.
