Subject: Devil's Claw

Hi, I've been trawling through the messages, and there are so many. Has anyone used Devil's Claw to help with osteoarthritis? Did it help?

Hi Beryl,I have never tried Devils Claw.
I did try Turmeric amongst other things. It didn't work for me. There are lots of people that say these things help them. I would say just give it a go and see what happens.
I will say I have a mixture of OA and RA so maybe that's why it wasn't for me.
Beryl I understand how painful OA can be so I hope this works for you.
Take care. Remember you are always welcome here if you need a chat.

Hi Lois

Thank you for your kind message. It's good to share thoughts and ideas with fellow sufferers. I've tried so many alternative supplements for arthritis, and always on the lookout for new ones. Perhaps the best one I've tried is the GOPA Rosehip supplement. It did appear to lessen the pain, but not dramatically. Hence, still the search. Being in pain all the time does detract from one's enjoyment of life, I'd like to know if any other contributors have had any success with supplements, but reading past messages it does not appear so. Contributors to Earth Clinic swear by Borax, women to take 1/8 teaspoonful a day, men 1/4 teaspoonful. Worth a try.

Best wishes to you.

Hi Beryl, do you have any pain killers from your GP.
Nothing wrong with giving the Borax a go.
Everything is worth a try. Some swear by the magnetic bracelet.

Take care.

Hi Lois
I was about to catch the bus the other day in the sweltering heat, and was joined by a younger lady. As you do, we began a conversation about our aches and pains, and she related how much pain she was in. She showed me her hands and they were distorted with arthritis. And then she mentioned that her doctor had informed her that a wonderful new drug was on the horizon for arthritis, and he would put her name down for it as soon as it became available. Do you or any other contributors have knowledge of this? She seemed genuine enough!

Hi Beryl there is a new drug on the horizon for Rheumatoid Arthritis. I can't remember the name but it is a one pill a day.
Not sure when it will be available.
Nothing for Osteoarthritis as far as I know.
The Lady you were talking to sounds like she has Rheumatoid Arthritis. I hope the new meds work for her and it is on the market soon.
Take Care.

Thanks, Lois, you're probably right that she has Rheumatoid Arthritis. She didn't specify! She, too, couldn't remember the name of it. But what a blessing if it helps eliminate pain for sufferers!

I don't think until recently enough was spent on research. Hopefully this will be the start of something they will continue with.
Research needs to continue.

I hope when it is available it helps so many.

Take care.

This heat is awful. I like the summer but this is too much.
