Subject: Severe Lower Back Pain

Hi,
I have psoriatic arthritis. I was taking Naproxen for the arthritis but my GP took me off this as they said it really should not be taken with Lansoprazole.
Since then my lower back pain is really painful, all my GP is saying is to take Paracetamol which is just dulling the pain.
I am considering take ibuprofen but I was wondering if anybody with a similar storey has tried anything else with success.

Hi Debbie, At least your doctor is aware of what you should and should not take. I was on naproxen years ago and was on a similar stomach protector as lansoprazole and I had a terrible swelling in one ankle. Ask your doctor to prescibe you something else and perhaps ask to be referred to a physiotherapist. x

Meant to say I think you should phone your rheumatology dept and see if they can help. There must be better drugs now than Naproxen for psoriatic arthritis.
