Hi Bente, not really good on knees. My husband has an arthritic knee. He has tried lots of different knee supports but has never thought much of any of them. He prefers a hot water bottle when the pain is bad. Lucky for him he can rest up as retired.
Have a word with your pharmacist they are usually good with this sort of stuff and they have all the new supports on offer.
You have to learn what makes it worse as it is different for everyone. I hope someone sees your post and will have better advice for you
Take care

Thank you for your reply Lois. I'm only 50 and not quite ready to hang up my boots yet, so trying to do what I can without making it worse :) As you say, probably not one solution that fits all x

Bente , I would get some physio , you can build up the building up muscles around the knee will help support the knee ,

they can recommend a knee support or a OT can get you one , I need both replaced but its hard to advise with out seeing it + we are not professional

Physio. sounds a good idea and they will show you what excerises to do and you can probably get you a support from them or they will advise you what to use. Have they ever offered you an injection for your knee? I've had quite a few for RA and they do help.

I think swimming is good as the water takes the weight of our joints. If you are overweight it could help to lose a bit weight. I have bother with my ankles and feel if I was a bit lighter they would maybe feel better. x
