Subject: Can any1 give me summat 2 b positive about????
Well as the title suggests I'm very bitter and twisted at being told I have 'RA', I was diagnosed 2yrs ago now, but have been in denial about it for the last 10mnths (I've been pregnant and it went away), its now back with avengance and I feel I can't cope with my extremely heavy baby, just wish I was pregnant again......please someone help me find something positive as I just feel like throwing myself off a cliff. I'm so tired of feeling ill and in pain. :((

I first got R A after my son born in 99 and then I also had a dreadful time after my daughter born in2003. I was dreadful and trying to cope with a new born baby. I couldnt walk down the stairs without crying with the pain, lost 2 stone in 8 weeks,needed my partner to help me stand up (took an hour).The hospital finally took great care of me, so contact G.P as you will need new medication probably.I have had a difficult time but good times too,such as improvements with some medication and am now feeling more positive.I withdrew from my friends but am now starting to get out a little bit(better than nothing).I had my knees drained a few months after her birth and this helped a lot as they were so swollen.Please contact me if you need someone to talk to as I have been there and I know you feel so frustrated and miserable.

Life... thats summat to be positive about...plus a gorjus baby... however, I know its hard, especially with children, I was better when I was pregnant. dont know y, u really need to get your partner/hubby to support u more, and help u more around the house, unless he already does, some men do help I know, anyway, Just wondering Ronnies mum, have u recently had your meds looked at? are u on Methtrexate or Enbrel perhaps? Im on Zomorph painkillers, they r an enormous help, mb u need better painkiller Meds... its vicious circle that u r in at the Moment, but u shld be able to get it under some better control than it is at the present time...Please go see your GP, cos its not fair that u r struggling and suffering all this pain...alos please let us know how u get on, we r all here to support u Ronnies Mum take care

Holland has been reporting good remission results with a treatment they are trialing. Mind over Matter Its getting better on the drug scene cheer up!

Thankyou Sam and J,it's nice to know I'm not alone and if I can come here for some support thats even better!!! BLOGGER, its hard to be positive about the developement of new drugs when the fantastic people at NICE keep denying us these wonderful treatments!! I often feel even if a cure was found, if it didn't line the pockets of the pharmacutical (probably spelt wrong)company making it, then they just wouldn't bother, cuz lets face it, we wouldn't need the crap that don't work anymore!!! And they make a fortune out of us all taking stuff constantly.....but a cure would put a stop to that!

Your right there Ronnies Mum.. anyway, u know now that u can come on here, I still find it hard to accept my condtion also, and I got my official diagnosis in 2002, after just two years, like u, I couldnt accept it either, so it will take U time, we r all different, and we accept things at different times, R.M. (hope u dont mind me shortening your name) lol...I get sooooooooooooo ANGRYYYYYYYYYYYYY, I wannnna Screammmmmmmmmmm!! so feel fee to do the same Ok...U r amongst Friends in here...But like Blogger said, Meds do help, providing u get the correct meds....may I ask what sort U r Taking at mo.. and for how long etc? also what painkillers do u take, becos beleive me, it takes a bit of juggling them around to get the best ones to work... anyway R.M. Im here on and off, when I get a chance to get on this machine that is, if its not the kids, its this machine booting me off!! lol....chin up love Jill

hi ronnies mum i'm so sorry u are feeling like this and i can sympathise with u totally ive been told ive got sero neg arthritis and have been in constant pain for 7 weeks now and nothing is working for me, had pain killers ,dmarts ,inflammatorys,steroid injection and steroid infusion and none has taken the pain away yet but the sulfsazine takes weeks to kick in so my hoping it will take effect soon.What are u on at the moment. Everyone here has listened to my moans and have been absolutely lovely they are so supportive so please if u need to chat or have a moan we r all here to help take care xxx

I'm currently taking steroids (prednisolone) as they were all I could take during pregnancy and my lil one is 3mnths old now,I've just upped my dose as the flare up is horrid, I was offered sulfasalzine but I'm scared of it to be honest. I suffer with bad stomach and have heard this can make it bad,plus I also want another baby straight away (mental I know). Everyones sooo anti steroids, my Doctors are anyway, it upsets and scares me.....infact I just feel scared all the time of the future etc. I feel I've had my life taken away from me. I had shingles 14 times before I got this 'RA' and docs think they may have triggered the 'RA'. BLOODY USELESS BODY!!!!

i don't mean to be rude but if you knew anything about RA you would know that it can't be cured and if it could don't you think we would have tried these natural remedies.

Hear Hear Amelia... Calvien Kliene we DONT need u in ere!!! Bloogger it ALWAYS rains in Yorkyland lol your a lucky fella today then lol R.M. dont be scared of the steroids, GPs are cautious becos they can ruin the Bone, Just have them during a flare up, also if u r hoping for another baby, yes u prob will feel flare up goes into remission, but it might happen all over again...So I will tell u this...Sulfa made me feel sick, only on it 6 months, I was on it along with Methtrexate, I am now on Enbrel along with Methtrexate and that is better for my stomach, 100 percent better...sulfa did not work for me...Please DONT be scared of these Meds, used correctly, shld help your pain, and it also stops deformilty of your joints remember that bit, so its better to be on the DMARDS than NOt.... remember everyone is different too, we dont always have the same symptoms... Yes I wouldnt want to be without my meds and if you suffer side effects the rheumatologist tries you on a new combination.Just got to find the ones that suit you.
