Subject: DLA to PIP
I receive DLA and as I will be 65 in a few months time and not had the form in to change over to PIP i'm wondering what happens now as I believe both stop at 65. I have heard after 65 it's called attendance allowance and if that is the case would you have to apply for that? I'd be grateful for any advice.

Anne , you still get DLA and after april will be transfered to PIP , you should have recieved a letter in the last couple of weeks from them if you claim afer 65 you would have to claim Attendance allowences , my letter said I would be transfered to PIP high for mobility & middle for care https://www.gov.uk/dla-disability-living-allowance-benefit

Thank you very much Colin. It's actually 5 months before I turn 65, do you think I should wait until they contact me? At the moment I get the same as yourself. Have you been called for a medical and does everyone get called?

they got 100K claims to deal with & that is going to take ages so are just transfering us all over to PIP without claining , at some point they may check again , I have never been for a medical & had DLA since 1998 , had mine upgraded 4 years ago & they told me it should have been done a few years before Just get the consultant letters & any other information to back up any claim & you will be fine , it is alot easier to get Attendance allowance than DLA or PIP
