Subject: trapeziectomy

hi am now 14wks post op and my fingers are very stiff/painful in the morning, the 'nerve' pain over my knuckles is constant and am still unable to drive due to lack of grip. Had no physio or 'splints' just told not to overuse by surgeon and to see him 2 mths time - this constant pain is getting me down - on paracetamol/brufen but don't really help. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Anne, I have the same thing along with carpal tunnel. I had a steroid injection that took the pain away after two days. I have to say after approximately six months I need another injection.
They are not considering surgery for me as the steroid injections work. I was wondering if maybe you could get a steroid injection while you await surgery. Just a thought.
Speak to your gp you never know.
Take care x

Hi Anne , ask for pregabalin from your GP ,to help with the nerve pain , it works very well , but not sure they will give it to you
