Subject: Arthritis in little finger joint
I am 72 and think I may have arthritis for the first time so I've been very lucky. The top joint of the little finger of my left hand is swollen and a bit red. Sometimes it feels fine, other times I get a throbbing pain in it. I have asked my GP, practice nurse and pharmacist and they have all said they don't know what it is and just shrugged it off. As I use the computer a lot and also play the keyboard I am anxious to know if this could be arthritis and if so, what should I do about it at this early stage?

Hi dorothy, cant beleive your doc fobbed u off like that, its obviously something, if it doenst go away, say in another week or so, go back, and complain, they often wait a while to see if things like u describe go on their own, so if this continues, go back, that way the Doc will have more info to go on, hope that makes sense Love Jill
