Bernie my feet and wrists and hands are hurting bd today, left hand even hurts to type, yea my kids depend on me for so much, we live in a beautiful rural area, 8 miles from there schools, and ten from town, they need me to drive them everywhere, thats y i bought myself an automatic, its new so i love driving it, but not when im this bad!, I just want to be in bed, infact Im going to bed until i pick up my eldest from work at 4.30, however, my younger kids, 10 and 11 are with their dad til tonight, so yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy peace for me, just for a little while! My feet are bad today to Bernie, so I,put myself on steroids for a week, that usually does the trick, plus gives me some energy.

Hi Jill,

I am so sorry that you are really poorly today, I am on Humira, Methrex8, Naproxen and lots of Tramodols. The injections seem to be doing the trick, I haven't had a flare up for a while now (touch wood), I've had just a few days of sore wrists and aching shoulders, plus my knees but hopefully one of them will be sorted out in August.

Take Care, & I really hope that tomorrow is alot better for you.

Hi Sue

thanks for your sweet reply, are u having an op in August then? Ive got to have another Spine op, saw my gorjus Surgeon 1st may, he wants to see me again in 3 months, as recently I had a Spinal Probe(injection of drugs into my disapearing disc(95% gone) anyway that has helped me, pain is much much less in lumber region, but I will need the spine op eventually, but this time around im Scared stiff!!! LOl...my elbows are terrible at the mo, taking steroids, so hoping flare up will get better, since being on the methtrexate and the Enbrel injections, My flare ups are much less, so thats goood isnt it? wow painful wrists are a nightmare arnt they? had both shoulders operated on, but they are also aching a lot at the mo, and my feet, thats how i know Im in a Flare

anyway thanks for being so kind

Love jill x

Hi guys,

Although i hate to hear you're not feeling too good, but i have to admit it makes me feel a little better knowing there are others out there like me.

So so tired today, tearful etc plus of course pain. I really hate myself. Fed up with moaning. I'm lucky i have supportive family and friends but don't want to burden them all the time.

Sorry to moan, just ignore me.

Take care all of you. Lyn

Hi Jill,
multiple problems in multiple joints. Pain, swelling only minor deformities, so so weary permanently, and even minor stress or effort increases all my problems. My elderly father is very unwell just now so all symptoms are worse. My surname is my married name. Are you from wales?
I've had arthritis for 12 + years and recently had to retire from work on ill health. And must admit my life is easier because of that. How about you?

Hi lyn

My Dads surname, altho he and his father did not live in wales, I live in east sussex now...But think there must have been some welsh in us somewhere with the Hughes name...always loved that name.

I had to give up work, must admit, its easier if I am unwell in some ways, but i still have a young family needing lifts here and there, to school etc, my partner helps a lot, I cant imagine ever holding down a job now due to the pain and like u say, the fatigue it all brings...im always tired, its now just a part of my life....Stress def makes me worse...sorry to hear about your Dad, its a worrying time for u, so try and be easy on yourself..... I carry a lot of guilt when im unwell, becos I dont want to do a thing if I get a major flareup, just want to recluse to my bed. I can do that, but b4 u know it, the kids need picking up from school, we live in a rural area, primary school 3 miles from our village, so no choice but drive, mind u, I now have a gorjus automatic car, couldnt cope with Gears!

take care Lyn, wish u both well

btw do u have R.A. or similar?

Hi Jill,

Good to hear from you. Docs have now decided i have sero-negative arthritis. However the diagnosis has changed several times including lupus. I'm not bothered what they call it i just do my best to minimise it as best as i can.

Need a new car ( money permitting) so am thinking of automatic, what car have you got. I know i need i very light feel to the car.

Hi Lyn

i like your positive attitude, Yes its good to put a name to our illness, and that way we get the correct Meds, however, seems to me, when we have R.A. or Inflam Arthritis, or infact Seron Neg Arth, at the end of the day, we end up(if things keep flaring up bad) on the same Meds, as the medications, Methtrexate, enbrel Injections are usually what we are given if we have any of the above, becos at the end of the day, the pain is the same, and the degeneration can be the same.... Arthritis is an insidious disease, some get it milder than others, others chronically, on top of my Inflam...R.A.? seron neg diagnosis? ive had the lot. becos of the complex varietys that I have, I never know what is triggering off any of the above, I also have reiters disease, which attacks the soft tissues(very rare diseaase in women) but yet I have it...oh well...I tend to have the same attitude as u, as long as I get this under control, then i will accept what is happening to me.....

Rambling here..... lol ok I have an Automatic, had to change from gears, becos of my left shoulder, hand pain and foot pain LOl.... best thing I did was buying an Automatic....I love the shape of the Seat..I have the Altea XL tdi, love it....still fair size of ferry my teens around lol...u need to have a good look around, if I ddint need the Altea, I would be looking at an automatic Mini cooper, love that look... I love the Toyota yaris also...fab little car...I also love the Peugeot 206/307 auto version, and the Vauxhall astra(small car)dont remember type....but there is a massive choice, depends how much u want to spend, think that New Scrappage deal is amazing, providing u have a car over ten years old...there are good deals out there...oh yea, the Seat IBIZA is a fab little car, very light in driving, think ifu get an auto, andf it has a decent size engine, say a 16 engine Minimum, u will find it light to drive.... I use to have a Three Ton People carrier, had power steering, luxury car, but very costly, so got rid and now have my gorjus car....check the Seat out, the engines are made by Audi, not like a Skcoda LOl

anyway, stay well and let me know how u get on

Love Jill xx

Hi Jill,

Thanks for the info. I've got a manual Nissan Primera which i love but they've stopped making them. Why i ask myself, everybody i know who has one loves it, so they stop making them , no sense. Hadn't thought of seat, will have to find local franchise garage.

Thanks for that, keep plodding on
