Subject: Liver results and alcohol

Hi everyone. Ive been on mtx for over 3 years and doing good but yesterday my liver tests came back a bit off. I feel fine but the doctor advised me to stop alcohol. Has anyone got any advice as I do like the occasional wee drink. I've a friends 40 Th tomorrow and I'd like to be able to be social. Please dont think I just dont want to take the doctors advice but I feel reely ok and I dont think my tests were that bad. Thanks

Mgt, the problem with the liver is that you don't feel there is anything wrong until things are quite bad so you can only go by the test results. No-one on here can tell you it's ok to drink if you've been advised not to. We are all different in the way we process drugs. Personally, I wouldn't take the risk.

Hi Mgt, be careful always take Drs advice. I celebrated my Son's wedding alcohol free because of taking tramadol I had a great time and enjoyed the whole day and I don't think any one noticed that my only drink was a Sprite or coffee.

Have a great night celebrating with your friends.

Good for you Mgt. You will enjoy a glass of wine when you get the Liver back as it should be.
Life is off sometimes but I think we all deal with it fantastically.

Take care x
