Subject: Crippled With Gout

I don't know from day to day if I'll be able to walk without agonizing pain. I follow the rules, the diets. I take the prescribed indomethacin with little results. I pray someone knows something I don't know. Please. Anything anyone knows has to be better than the hell I live in.

Hi

Sorry to hear of your terrible pain, ive have Reiters diseaase, attacks all soft tissues, tendons etc, and joints,(inflamatory arthritis... Im on a cocktail of meds...Methtrexate, Enbrel injections and Zomorph 100 twice day...... Seems to me that your medicines are not adequate enough..... what other meds are u on? I went thru 6 years of hell until i finally got my flare ups under control due to the toxic meds etc....if they keep my flare up at bay, then im happy to be on them for life.... there is No magic cure, we are all different, we dont always get same pain relief as others, and others have more operations for corrective surgery than others, I know the Hell you speak of, infact all of us on here have or are still Living in Hell, However, from experience, feeling like that makes me far worse, symtom worse, because if anyone sufferes from depression due to Pain, then its best to get some decent meds from the GP, I am on Cipralex...due to feeling like an old chick..... Ok I might still feel like an Old Chick, but I no longer live in Hell.....I have accepted my very rare disease, angry about it of course, but I also have a life to live....when im bed ridden or hospitalised, then yes Im in Hell again, but when Im home, and Ok having a Crap day due to pain,(need another spine Op) then I REFUSE to be back in Hell..... i Fight this, and so far im doing a good job...My rhumatologist can no longer give me any more help, its all down to my surgeons...and thats fine by me, if i need another Op, then I will take it knowing that itMight just help me....

Where is the Gout affecting u? is it everywhere? also are u seeing a rhumatologist and on decent Pain relief?

take care
Jill
