Subject: Wanting to kill the GP

I went to the Doctors in Brigg in hope of him helping me out with a steroid injection(not had 1 in 2 years)but the last time I did it helped my problems.
Dr Ted Willis was the GP in, I explained what had happened(constant vomiting from sinus problems due to swelling in them from the arthritis) and tried to explain that but he continually ignored what I was saying despite it being facts from both the ENT specialist(with CT Scan results)& the Rheumatology Dept. specialist & also other people that I talked to that are going through the same thing(on this forum):).
He continued to talk over me, saying the things the specialists and people on internet forums have said were rubbish so the CT scan is wrong??
I was nearly in tears in frustration trying to get him to listen but he wouldn't,my girlfriend was also very upset that he wouldn't do anything.I cannot believe his behaviour and ignorance in thinking he knew more about my illness than the specialists I have to see.
This is where I started to raise my voice to him at a last ditch attempt to shut him up and listen to the facts but all he said was "Can you leave as I have patients with actual illnesses to treat" WTF
So Psoriatic Arthritis, Depression and breathing problems are not illnesses?
Needless to say I have got an Official Complaints form to fill in.

That is shocking, Stuart. I hope you have some better doctors in your practice. I used to have a gp like that but ditched the practice and went elsewhere.

Stuart as you live in Brigg, do you attend Hull Royal rheumatology clinic. I go there myself but I live in Hull.

Can you not change your g.p. it would be easier than trying to argue with the one you have got.

It makes me wonder why some of these people became doctors Stuart. I would definitely report him, he has no right to speak to you that way. Have you tried calling the hospital and ask if they could see you? Good luck.

In my view most G.Ps are over paid and their egos are sometimes outsized by the huge pay packets they receive. Sadly it seems hard these days to find a really good compassionate doctor.I hope you do complain Stuart and in the meantime seek out a new G.P.

Stuart I asked if you go to Hull Royal rheumatology because they are very 'obliging' with the steroid injections. I know people travel there from Lincolnshire so if you don't why don't you ask to be referred there, it is a really good clinic and consultants are brilliant.
p.s. I don't live in Hull I travel from a small village outside of Hull - just to clarify!!!

Stuart you have every right to be angry until some one suffers any kind of Arthritis they just could not understand what it is like.
Try your rhumy nurse or present your self at A&E.
Good luck and take care.

Thats just terrible. my girl zoe has artritis and the gp was hopeless. He told me we were making it up. I changed gp to a lady who is great. You should change gp. They are supposed to help us not treat us like that

Hi, sorry for not getting back on here.I only saw Dr Willis as I was so bad during the night, my regular GP wasn't available for 2 weeks.
I called the Grimsby Hospital and they saw me within 2 days of this and checked me over, gave me the steroid injection and sorting out what to do in the future so they were great.
Hi Julie, I have only been to Hulls ENT department, not the Rheumatology Dept.Castle Hill were very good in getting me seen quickly and doing a CT scan.

glad you got injection Stuart it will help. Castle Hill also have rheumy department that's where the head consultant is based but Hull Royal is also his clinic and they are absolutely brilliant every one who works in that department so if you do get to go you can be certain they will look after you - or they wont stop till they get you feeling better. Take care.
