Subject: Andreas story
I have just read Andreas story, and it makes me sad as she is so young, my goodness HOW I feel for her with having all the pain and no one seeming to know WHY !! I am just the same at the moment, I have had RA since I was about 45 and I am now 78, I had a hip repced three months ago ad since that was done I seem to be having an ENDLESS flare up, all joints swollen and very painful. Like Andrea I am a very independant lady, with a husband with Parkinson's to look after, so being helpless with all the pain and walking like a wooden soldier is very embarassing. I think at my age the medicals seem to dismiss the fact that you need help, and take it that the RA is all part of the growing old 'thing', the RA in my hands made things a bit difficult when I had my hip done as using crutches OR a stick was a bit painful, but I thought about how much better things would be when it was all healed...well it is, and they have done a good job,but this awful very long (endless) flare up is making me SOoooo angry and bad tempered at times, is there any one else out there who is my age (40 inside) having the same problems ??? and Andrea I send you love and all good wishes for the future.
