My gp suspects RA and I'm being referred.
Can RA pain by fleeting? One minute it's in my left knee, then my wrist, then my jaw...all in the space of minutes.

Please help..

Sounds like palindromic rheumatism.

Hello Carly

Mine was like this, it would flit from place to place. I use to have vision of a little devil running around my body bang on my joints saying....catch me if you can.

I read on another forum what someone said about RA and I thought at the time it was true. She said something on the lines that in some people it moved around the body, but in others it takes up residence in one joint and stays there.

When you do see a consultant don't feel silly sitting there saying it hurt there and then there and then there, they will understand.

Start to make a diary of how things are so you have something to refer to when you have your appointment and do make a list of what you want to say. It may be an idea if you can to have someone in with you, there may be a lot to take in on your first appointment.

I thought it may of been palindromic arthritis but it wasn't. Not saying here that you will be the same.

Good luck

Hi thanks for your advice...

I developed knee pain 2 weeks ago with no swelling just felt stiff and " spongey" This pain is now in my ankles, wrists, fingers and elbows. In the space of less than 2 weeks. There's not a lot of swelling. With a rf factor of 21 does the sound typical of RA?
thanks

Hi Carly.
Your symptoms sound like mine. My last appt i was told it was very possible i have ra. My factor is 41 and was told that is a borderline positive.
But with all my other symptoms taken into account too it looked very much like ra. No xray changes at the time but that was about 6 months ago now.
I actually have a second opinion tomorrow as i felt i wanted to be as sure as i could be before i started the meds they wanted me to take.
Our symptoms sound very alike. Pain moving from place to place. A couple of my fingers are constantly tender though and my feet have symptoms everyday even if its just for a couple of hours sometimes.
I feel nuts at times as i have sore knees one min then a short while later it could be my shoulder or my ankles.
With saying that though certain places are often always tender when i squeeze them even if they are not aching all the time.
I have never really had swelling.
Hope you find your answer xx
