Hi lol

I tried it and bought one tube quite a while and I have to say that it does help with pain and inflammation and its natural ingredients get very well absorbed in the skin.

I have tried other joint creams this is quite good.

hi lol , that sounds expensive but never tried it myself , what I tend to use is Devil's Claw gel , it dont work with joints well but its very good with tendons/muscle & soft tissue so now started taking devil's claw capsules but they are not that cheap

one thing I would recommend is taking vitamin D and a zinc supplements , zinc helps with the white cells that protects our joints , hope the cream works well for you & let us know how you get on with it

It's got Devil's Claw in it, the main ingredient I think. Devil's Claw gel is cheaper!

Can anyone suggest something for a torn muscle, at least I think that's what the practise nurse said it was yesterday. It hurts from my thigh to my knee and I'm hobbling. I think I did while I was doing tai chi.

She said I can't have anti inflammatory drugs and told me to take co-codamol. I really hate taking them as they make me constipated even with taking a laxative.

Difflam Cream is realy good but not sure you can buy it without a prescription from BOOTS but its online at amazon etc. Difflam is a anti inflammatory cream , you ask your surgery for a prescription

or try Devil's Claw gel from somewhere like Holland & Barrett , as for pain take paracetamol which should be better for you as its the codeine that does that

Linda, you should't use an anti inflammatory cream if you can take said drugs. It still gets absorbed into the body. I use arnica muscle cream from Neals Yard.

Asthma is one thing that precludes the use of topical anti inflammatory gels/creams but also stomach ulcers, heart attacks etc. They are not just safe because they are applied topically. It's important to know this! They are gentler on the stomach but that doesn't mean they are always safe to take. Linda should discuss this with her GP! I can't use them myself because of the medication I'm on.

I've been 'experimenting' if that's the right word with flexiseq, initially was totally put off by the price but recently been able to get it half price, can't take NSAIDs in any form they send my tinnitus through the roof, I'd never touch Devils claw again in any shape or form, that tore into my stomache similar to diclofenic/ voltarol, flexiseq appears to help some of my osteoarthritis, but where there's bone rubbing bone it makes little or no difference, still in early days with this, been using it about a month, but I feel so much of the time that the real help is in the massage itself, barry

Carol , try Tens m/c , works very well on lower back problems , as for flexiseq , it does help with soft tissue pain but the active part is devils claw , some creams that may help like difflan & voltarol gels you can get on prescription or over the counter

Subject: Re: new cream for joint pain

I am always interested to see if there are any journal articles on these alternative treatments.

Advance 7 - its main ingredient is Harpagophytum (Devils Claw).

I found this paper that discusses how Harpagophytum may work -

Molecular targets of the antiinflammatory Harpagophytum procumbens (devil's claw): inhibition of TNFα and COX-2 gene expression by preventing activation of AP-1.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22072539

....so it appears that it may be a TNFα inhibitor! and it targets the inflammation process in relation to reaction to a part of GRAM NEGATIVE BACTERIA (that we know tie to other research about the GUT :)).

Lipopolysaccharide - Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lipopolysaccharide
Lipopolysaccharides (LPS), also known as lipoglycans and endotoxins, are large molecules consisting of a lipid and a polysaccharide composed of O-antigen, outer core and inner core joined by a covalent bond; they are found in the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, and elicit strong immune responses in animals.

Advance 7 is really good cream Thank God, I tried it and had some relief.. its a external cream shouldn't effect taking anything internally/orally.

It does make the body feel slightly cold due to menthol action best to apply when going to bed and absorbtion is better due to bed and body heat.

Subject: Injections for painful knees????

In the past I have had injections in my wrist, shoulder and hip that really helped with the pain. My Husband needs double knee replacement surgery but has now been told he cannot have them due to his heart condition. Is it possible to have these injections in the knee?? If so what would the injection be and could he have this whilst taking Warfarin. Thank you

Hi Betty, your husband needs to check with his GP before using anything not prescribed if he is on Warfarin.
I hope he gets some kind of pain relief soon.
Take care x

Thank you Lois - All the Doc did was to up his Paracetamol dose to 8 a day where he was told at the start of going on to Warfarin, 4 a day max would be his dose. I just wondered if anyone on this site had tried the injections.

Hi Betty. Warfarin is so old fashioned now. I f you Google blood thinners you will see there are much better products on the Market. The new drugs do not need constant blood test in fact they do not need any blood testing.
The patient take one in the morning and one in the evening. Easy.
The cost is a lot different that is why they choose to keep people on Warfarin. To be honest the pills may be more expensive but if no blood tests are needed surely it would be a similar cost in the end.
I am just wondering if you do a little bit of checking on the internet maybe your husband could ask to be changed over and a better pain medication could be given. The new drugs are much better for people with other ongoing health issues.

I am not a GP there might be some other reason your husband has not been offered the newer drug. I would definitely ask the question when your husband sees his GP again.

Take care and I hope you find this information helpful.

Betty don't let your husband go on to the newer anticoagulants such as Apixiban or Riveroxiban, there is NO antidote for for these newer drugs & are dangerous. I have personally experienced them terrible drugs ,brought on the market to save the NHS having to do all the blood test...my advice stay with warfarin much safer !

Hi Lewis, your statement is not true at all. The best thing to do is research and discuss with your GP. There are many horror stories about Warfarin as well.
As for the drugs being used are for the saving of money they are actually far more expensive than Warfarin.

Please any one faced with using these kinds of medication do your research and make your own minds up.

I dont need to do any research & My Statement is absolutely TRUE, I do know what I am talking about I have experienced both Apixaban & Warfarin. The new anticoagulants are not much more expensive than warfarin when you take into consideration monitoring of warfarin.
That's why they introduced the new drugs.
when taking Warfarin in 2012 the only side effect I noticed was heart burn / indigestion, when I was introduced to Apixaban in 2015 after only a few months on this drug I suffered a serious bleed from my prostate followed by a serious bladder infection & I found by researching online this kind of urinary issue is associated with Apixaban...
I now do not take any medically prescribed anticoagulants at all,I take natural alternatives instead.

Sorry if I offended you. Obviously you had a bad time but this is your personal story and it must of been awful.
The new drugs are safe and Warfarin has many of its own horror stories and I also know first hand about warfarin.
All I am trying to say to people is what works for one does not necessary work for the next.
So people do your research and make your own minds up with your Gps help.

Once again Lewis sorry if I offended you.
