Subject: Hello

Hi,
I'm new to these forums but have rhumetoid artritis and am suffering quite badly at the moment. I have recently put on quite a bit of weight and my energy levels are very low and I constantly feel tired. I am taking methatrexate once a week but it doesn't seem to help a great deal with the pain in my hands.

I have recently been reading some articles about raspberry ketone helping with weight loss and energy levels, however in a bit apprehensive due to my artritis. Does anyone know if it's ok to take these whilst being treated for RA?

Thanks

hi becky , welcome to the forum , there are loads of us with RA on here & all pretty much in the same situation so we know what your going through

cant help with raspberry ketone , there is a documentary Fat Sick & Nearly Dead by Joe Cross about juicing if anyone needs to loss some weight

myself have been suffering over last year or so , they gave me antibiotics & my CRP went down to 3 & a month later back up to 29 , they are happy to give us expensive drugs that are not working for myself but need to go back & get it changed

would get in contact with your rhumy department & get them to review your drugs & maybe give you something along side MTX

Hi Becky, I tried it last year before I went on Mtx, it made me feel ill, (sick).. I have a lot of trouble with my stomach anyway! It turned out expensive too. But I would check with ur Rhuemy dept like Colin said. Itmay work for you. Good luck

Hi Becky, I was always told not to take any supplements at all when on Mtx because of possible liver damage. I would ask your specialist nurse before taking anything at all.
