Subject: Support for Knee
Hi I have RA. Have been having pain in knee's for about 9 weeks now, but one knee is getting progressively worse, no swelling as far as I can see. I do see my consultant on 11th November but just wondering if it would be ok to wear some sort of knee support in the meantime as I work. Many thanks

I wear knee supports when I am walking sometimes. Some people like the neoprene ones but I find they make me sweaty. I think it's important not to wear them all the time as you lose muscle tone, so I would check with your nurse or someone to make sure you are getting the right thing.

Hi Jeanette , would ask for steriod injection into your knee , they can settle down afterwards & well worth having it done , better to have a injection than end up with joint damage

Im not sure they will inject in knee Colin, there is no swelling, although I am sure when consultant examines them in 12 days time he will know it is tender. I am going to ask for a scan as there is a lot going on with one hand, can't separate one finger and my little finger is drifting way out, maybe he might do knees. Thanks for the advice.
