Subject: New to the forum
Hi I'm new to this forum but thought I may get some help, I live in Spain which is good for the weather no damp days. I have RA plus it has attacked my lungs so treating me is more of a problem as I have RA noduals on my lungs and problems walking up inclines etc. the spainish health care is very good and they are monitoring me very well. They have tried all the normal drugs but the RA pain is getting a lot worse, very tired all the time and night fevers. They are going to try treating me with infusion of Orencia has anyone been on this has it helped. They need to get my RA sorted so it stops attacking my lungs. I am 59 but feel 79 most days lol. Any feed back would be appreciated thanks from sunny and warm Spain.

Hi Patsy, Welcome to the forum. I don't know anything about Orencia but I get Rituximab infusions and they have made a big difference to me, so I do hope the orencia helps you. Where is Spain do you live? My daughter lives near Malaga and I am going over next week to visit her and hopefully for a bit of sunshine. Take care x

Hi, orencia is known as abatacept and I have been on it. It worked very well and very quickly for me. I felt improvement within days. Unfortunately I had to stop it for other reasons. It is given as a monthly infusion - takes around 30 minutes or so. I am now on tocilizumab which is a similar agent. Good luck with it. I didn't have any obvious side effects from it although I may have gained a little weight. regards Susan
