Subject: RE:Anyone live in dorset who has RA and toddlers

Hi There,

I have Rheumatoid, Fibromyalgia and an Under-active Thyroid. I have a 20 month old son. I'm looking to find mums in a similar situation as me.. who would like to meet up occasionally for coffee and chats.. maybe play dates. I live in Poole Dorset but am happy to drive further afield.

Look forward to hearing from you!!

Hi Jo, I do not live in your area or have young children, mine is all grown up!!!
I just identified with you as I got RA when my daughter was just 4 and I remember feeling ' different ' and a bit lost. I remember struggling suddenly to put my daughters socks on!
My life just changed, living with pain and trying to do my best for my family
So I just thought I would reply to you and hope someone is reading your post, a similar age and circumstances. I think that would be great for you.
I wonder if your local arthritis care has any younger members.
Good luck, hoping you get some replies.

Hi Jo,

I don't know if this is any help, but I'm from Dorset (Weymouth, though I've recently moved to London) and I'm quite young (26), though I don't have any children. I'm not being much help really, am I?! Though I've never attended one, I know that there are RA support groups around. Take a look at http://www.nras.org.uk/help_for_you/nras_groups_in_your_area/south_west_of_england/default.aspx (or google dorset rheumatoid arthritis support groups). You would be able to relate to members of the group, even if they are not particularly young, or have young children. It might be worth checking out. I intend to join something similar myself.

All the best with your search :)
