I am on 10mg then it goes up to 15 after 4 weeks, just hope not to get any side effects, is it worth increasing the folic acid if I do feel bad,? so far so good with no side effects,

hi Michelle , pleased you are doing good on Mtx , they should take blood test every month while you are on it & maybe bit more when you start or increase the drug .

a lot of Consultants dont like increasing folic acid because it may make Mtx less effective but having 5mg six days a week means you can take a lot higher dose , having higher dose folic acid can stop alot of the side effects from Mtx but you have to follow what your consultant advises
