Subject: MTX Blood test

hi I have phoned doctor for my regular blood test results, and the receptionist said I need to speak to doctor about my renal blood test I cannot get a phone call appointment until next Wed worried now ! do I still take my MTX today or do I miss it ?

I would call and ask to speak to the doctor Lorraine if he does an evening surgery and explain that you are worried. If he won't speak to you ask the receptionist to get him to call you back and explain about the mtx.

Did ask and she said could only book to speak to doctor on Wed next week I think I will miss my dose today

That is terrible Lorraine, i would have insisted on speaking to him. I think i would miss it too. Try not to worry, sometimes they say things like that and then it turns out to be something simple. If it was very serious he would surely have seen you before wed. but still not the point, he should have spoken to you.

hi Lorraine , had a few over the years been on Mtx , some times because CRP is up or sometimes the liver test is high & needed to stop MTX so you need to speak to them first or check with your rhummy nurse

Thanks everyone for the reply I spoke to doctor said to take the MTX as usual my liver function is good just the kidney test raised but not with the Mtx more than likely the Naproxen, he said not too concerned at the moment

Pleased to hear that Lorraine at least you don't have to worry all weekend now. Perhaps paracetamol would be better then, although not as effective x
