Subject: Newby diagnosed with reactive arthritis

Hi everyone, I'm a 45 yr old mum of 4 young boys. Only recently diagnosed with reactive arthritis. I'm just hoping to touch base with other sufferers to get an idea of what to expect (although I know everyone is different!).
I'm currently in a flare up, mainly hands and fingers, although other joints very painful at times, but this comes and goes...I woke this morning to my knee greatly swollen but virtually no pain...is this usual? Gp has px naproxen 500 mg twice a day. Can't say its doing much good...any suggestions as to something that might give better analgesia would be appreciated :)
Am trying to stay moving as much as possible, and to maintain a positive attitude in the hope this will pass. Any advice or guidance would be very much appreciated!

Hi there, i'm sorry hear you're suffering. There's so much info hard give you everything but if you go through older posts you might get ans u need. Or post specific ones. I've RA so might be diff treatments etc. Just wanted to say we're here to support you. I've two young kids which i find tough so can only imagine what ur going through. Gave up full tme job start april which was very upsetting and i still haven't got any kind of daily routine. Things are tough but i try to remain positive so you have good attitude. Xxx
