Subject: KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY?
Hello. I've seen a surgeon today who has offered me knee replacements on both knees because there is no lining left behind both of my knee caps. He has sent me home to do my exercises and says in 2 months I can decide whether to have the surgery because there can be more pain after this type of operation. The gaps between my femurs and tibias are still quite good so the problem is not there. I would love to hear some opinions please.

I haven't had my knee replaced but I have had both my hips done. The new hips are really good, and I'm able to do more than I did before. I work full time as a reception teacher, cycle and use the cross trainer; I've also recently started zumba. I'm 31 now and had them replaced in 06 and 07. I hope this helps.

Hi Welshruth, I haven't had knee replacement but my neighbour has had both knees done. She said its the best thing she ever did. Her quality of life is much better. She can now drive again and walk unaided. Hope this information is of use to you. Take care
