Subject: Please can someone look at my x-ray photos? I'm 29 yo male.. It doesn't look good..

Hello,

like i said, i'm 29 years old. I was doing a lot of pushups last winter and i started to feel some pain in my right hand joint.. I did a very stupid thing.. I thought it was a pinched nerve or something, so i tried to stretch that joint around.. I did a lot of stretching.. In the morning i cound even touch my hand.. It was that painful.. After a while it was normal.. Then i forgot about it and i started to use very strong hand grippers.. Then i started to feel the pain in my left hand.. After that i often felth that my thumb is pulling behind.. Like something is pulling on it..

I had stronger pain a month or so after that when i was working a lot around the house.. but nothing significant after thet till just recently.. Now i often have pain in my thumbs.. I hear my joints clicking whn i press hard, or when i ope/close my joints.. Most of movement is accompanied with some sounds like clicking.. it's loud..
Also my middle finger on my right hand seames to go to the right..
In the last weeks i also felt pain in my thumbs on my legs and my knee and now the last thing is my right shoulder..
can this spread to the whole body, or is this like an "echo" of this pain in my hands?

It's just all very bad.. It doesn't look good. I'm very afraid..

Pleas can someone look at these x-rays and tell me how bad is this? My appointment with a specialist is in 3 weeks from no. I'm worried that it will get much worse then it is now.. It looks like it's worse every day..

If no one here is a specialist, can you please point me in the right direction, where i could find some specialists that could tell me how things stand?

I'm a croatian person, so it would help if i posted my diagnosis of this x-rays.. It's in croatian..

I will be very thankful for any help..

Hi Luka,

I am not sure what your problem could be. It is possible that you have injured your hand and thumbs with your pressups and hand grippers, or it could be something else. You will have to see your specialist or doctor and they will have a better idea. If you have a form of arthritis then blood tests may show it up and then a rheumatologist would give you treatment for it. I don't know if anyone on here would be qualified to look at xrays and xrays dont always show arthritis at the beginning. Inflammation won't show on a xray. Try and rest your hands as much as possible until you see a doctor or specialist. Perhaps someone on here may be of more help to you, You can let us know how you get on. Good luck.

Hello Rhona,

yes, the pushups and then my attempt to do some stretching of the wrist and then later i used these hand grippers.. All these 3 things did the damage i believe.. The hand grippes probably the most damage, because i only hurt my right hand witht he pushups and the stretching..

The diagnosis that i recieved is that i have risartrosis, or arthritis of the thumb, but i also have reduction of space between various joints in the wrist, some sclerosis and i don't know.. That's about it that i see in my diagnosis..

I already did the blood tests and everything was good. The only thing that is wrong is high bilirubin, but that is an existing condition that i discovered more then 10 years ago, so my doctor told me that i very probably have gilbert syndrome, which is not a big problem.. i also did the hepatitis markers.. all came out good. :)

my doctor told me about glocosamin, the other thing, msm and... so now i drink osteo bi-flex and omega3 pills..

i'm waiting for a specialist appointment that is 3 weeks from now, but i'm very worried that i will loose time and that it will get worse..

i can hear my wrists making the clicking, cracking sounds, so now i know what movements cause it.. i'm trying to avoid any sort of movement that does that.. but it's not easy..

i thought that maybe there are some specialists here.. who knows, maybe someone shows up :) i also posted this on medhelp.. i don't know which site would be the best.. maybe someone knows where can i find a forum that has specialists for these kinds of conditions online?

Hi Luka, try looking at Arthritis Research UK website, it has lots of information for osteoarthritis and what to do for your joints.

I have OA in my thumb and was told by my specialist that it would hurt for a year and then get a bit stiff. He didn't want to give me a steroid injection as he says they are extremely painful!

Although it is painful it's doesn't sound serious so try not to worry too much and wait for your specialist. Best of luck.
