Subject: epsom, surrey coffee evenings.
My wife has ra and spends her day alone as I work, due to the severity of her condition shhe finds it difficult to venture out, I am trying to organise coffee evenings at our house, this would be good for her to meet other suffers and for all to swap stories, I think it would be a good way of helping each other, plus I can learn more about the condition, any advice or interest contact me on Richard.harding80@googlemail.com,

What a lovely idea, you sound a very caring husband. If i didn't live in Scotland i would have been delighted to join in. I hope there will be people on here that live near you that will be interested. Good luck.

Hello Richard, What a nice thing to do. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area but you could trying and see if there is a branch of Arthritis Care or National RA Soc near you and contact them. Why not also put an ad in the local paper. My mother used to run a scrabble club and people came round to her. Good luck.

Hi Richard, I agree with the others, you do seem a lovely caring husband. It is a great idea and along with others I too wish I lived in your area and would come along. It would help your wife to speak to fellow sufferers. I have a friend who got RA in her thirties, like myself, and out of 5 really close girlfriends, I feel only she really understands. We identify with each others problems. This forum is a help too and some regulars are really understanding and helpful. Maybe your wife's RA nurse could put patients in touch or she may allow you to put a poster on their notice board advertising such an event. Good luck and wishing your wife well. Emm
