Subject: RA or PA ???

Hi All,

My wife was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylytis 4 years back. She was getting pains on and off in her hip joint, back and neck.
But all the time she was working full time. To reduce pain she use to take NSAID which would help her in reducing the pain.

3 months back, she had some minor pain in her right knee. She ran to catch a flight on airport in the pain, and since then her right knee has flared up.

Doctors did her RA blood test. Blood report says that she does not have any RA factor.
Her ESR is very high (130). Doctor also diagnosed her with Peripheral Arthritis and put her on Sulfasalazine.

Right now, her condition is very bad. She has pain in right elbow. Her right knee still swollen (though she got the liquid taken out by injection). She also had steroid injected in her knee, which reduce the swelling and pain.
Her jaw pains sometimes. Her neck is paining and so is her right ankle. She cannot walk on her own.

She is 26 years old.

She is regularly taking Sulfasalazine for past 2 months now (2 gms/day)

I wonder if she has RA or Peripherial Arthritis? She has Ankylosing Spondylytis (She is HLA B27 positive).

Any one having similar combination? Any suggestion please...
