Just wanted to tell you that I have been feeling quite well a lot better than I thought since starting other method's yes you still have the bad time's but had those anyway regardless of what I was on.

What about your friend's mum who had arthritis how is she doing? was it the mtx that was giving her the nasty side effect's?

Please let me know how you are take care Deborah.

Hi Deborah
My friend is a bit upset - as he thinks the doctor is not treating her as a whole patient - just one symptom at a time. The doctor refused to even comment on earlier medication. She's gone from an initial poly myalgia diagnosis to an undefined arthritis - however talking to my mate the doc prescribed the mtx for mild pain, numbness and tingling. She stopped mtx after lots of tickly sore throats and coughing at night - now back on it - dose is very low.

My own back is gradually calming down and ribs are now mostly fine but have some residual stiffness. I've been running yesterday - which is fine for me as my hips haven't flared for years. I've been hanging from the banisters to stretch.

I read about boswellia the other night and even read a few British medical journal reports where they were comparing to sulfasalasine. I bought some on Wednesday.

I've also been boring my wife with some paleo diet stuff I've been watching on Youtube - she has high blood pressure. But thats probably because of me :-) Realy wonderful to hear that your feeling pretty good despite the weather - unfortunately I see others posting that the weather is making them worse.
Best wishes

Hi Sean,
Doctor's have a habit of that they think that you don't what you are talking about that they know best. I think poly myalgia affect's the musscel's and then the arthritis affect's the joint's so your friend's mum must have pain in her joint's that is why they have prescribed mtx.Wonder how she is feeling now on it.

Glad to hear that you have that your own back is calming down brillant idea to stretch from the banister's I used to work for a man and his wife and he did the same thing everyday only he had a pole over a archway and he used to get me to stretch my back only thing was i am so tiny so had to use a box to stand on but it did help your back he said you were supposed to do that everyday anyway he was 75yrs old at the time. But could not do it now as my wrist's would not stand it. But keep it up if you can.

That is very interesting the boswellia has been compared to sulfasalasine as it is a dimard and a pretty strong drug.Let me know how you get on with it.

Yes I agree the weather does affect you but since I stopped the mtx the weather has not been annoying me the same thank goodness.

I think that maybe the doc's don't know enought about my disease pa as have to keep reminding them that it affect's the skin etc that's why I am not to keen on the injection's think sometime's that they are kind of experimenting on you.

Think I have been boring my poor husband to death as well must remember he does not have the same as me and stop. Look after yourself Deborah.
