Subject: CIMZIA- burning itchy rash
Hi everyone Another question about cimzia, I have had my second double dose and within two days I developed a burning itchy rash on my face and neck, made me scratch like mad but felt like the itching was on the inside if that makes sense? I had a slight itch after first dose now im scared I may develop even worse side effects after doing another dose, has anyone else had this side effect and if so did they continue with the treatrment? I cant get hold of the rheumstology nurse and my gp hasnt got a clue and is reluctant to treat me as they dont know enough about cimzia. Im at my wits end as myskin is now so painful and to top it all off I still have extremely painful joints.

Hi Kim, I don't know anything about cimzia, i was on ennbrel but i would suggest that you get back onto the hospital as there must be someone else there that can help you and tell you what to do, it sounds to me like you have taken an allergy to it and i wouldn't take any more until you get advice. I hope you get it sorted soon, Take care xx

Hi kim can you contact health care at home, their pharmacy can give you advice. I was told hives are a normal side effect and try piriton to help relieve the scratching. If you need the number for health care who deals with the meds I can get it for you. Hope you feel better soon. X

Thanks everyone Im not taking anymore doses until Iv spoken to the lady at the hospital. It takes me a week to get any sort of reaponse from my consultants secretary so just got to be patient. I have taken piriton and it did ease the itching slightly but still left with a burning bright red face and neck, it looks and feels like a chemical burn. I am half tempted to give up with the anti tnf treatments they seem to cause more harm then good!
