Subject: Humira and methotrexate

Hi I was wondering if anyone was on the humira and mxt combination I seem to have been on nearly every drug going I have already had hydrocloroquine, shulphasalazine, methotrexate, lefluomide, gold injection, enbrel and now he want me to go back on mxt and try it with humira I am not looking forward to the methotrexate as it makes me quite Ill I'm very sick and feel sick most of the time I lost a lot of weight on it first time round I got down to 6 stone 9 and have just managed to get back to over 7 stone as when I was taking the enbrel I didn't have the sick feeling and was back to having a healthy appetite he is wanting me to try with the tablet form of mxt which is what I had last time he will think about switching to the injection in June when I return, I am more interested in stories of the humira as it is something I've never tried with the enbrel after 6 weeks I had infection after infection so was told to stop taking it, his concern is that I react the same on humira.

Thanks in advance

Hi
Sorry to hear you have been suffering so much. I was on humira for a year and had nothing but constant infections, so they took me off it and im now on cimzia and after just one dose I came down with a chest infection! Feeling very disilusioned with anti tnf at the moment and feel like just sticking to the cocodamol and prednisolone to help with the pain. I would give humira a try though as I know for some people it works really well.
Good luck x
