Subject: Anti-inflammatories and inflamation markers.

Please can anyone tell me if my inflammation level in my blood tests would be lower when I am taking Ibuprofen, I have always got raised results but my G.P usualy does my blood test during or after a flare up when I have been taking the pills. I have been diagnosed with Fibro and Joint Hypermobility but I have many of the symptoms of RA for which the blood test was negative.

Jan , this site is interesting reading , normal reading for CRP is 0-10mg/l , the lower the better , esr does varies per person but under 10 is good guide

Hi Jan, i am on various drugs for R/A and if they are working then they should lower your ESR levels (inflammation) however a couple of months ago i had to go onto anti-inflammmatorys and for some strange reason my inflammation was worse than ever and they caused bad swelling in my feet. I don't know if this was caused by them reacting to my other drugs or whether they just didn't agree with me. hope you get in down.
