Subject: soft keyboard mouse

Hi,

Can anyone suggest a mouse and keyboard that are really easy on the fingers, thumbs. My fingers ( especially index finger and thumbs) get quite sore working on computers - which I have to do to work. Its mainly at the base of the digit but can also be up at the end.
Ive have some kind of unknown arthritis for a year in many joints, both load bearing and small joints.

Many thanks

hey Mike

I got a microsoft split key ergonomic keyboard and it is brilliant. It was the only one of its type that I could find. It really helps with my wrists and the base of my thumbs but the letters wear off the keys really easily - I was the only one at work who could touch type so it used to really annoy people who came to use my computer and kept pressing the wrong keys lol

If it's any help I use a programme Dragon Naturally Speaking. It does everything I speak into the headphones, new paragraphs, colons and a lot more that I haven't found yet. Headphones come with the programme. Hope you find something that helps.

I have a logitech rollerball marble mouse. This is not moved by hand as usual but by the ball - which can be done by palm, fingers etc. The buttons are at the side which is a more natural position than an normal mouse

hi, Mike
may I suggest some natural healing within your body by some simple exercise...
at work, stand up for a minute every 2 hours or so, and press at several points of your palm with the nail of yr other hand thumb. Now, for the other palm.

In this way, I guess, the blood flow increases in your hands. See, if you feel any better. I know I do sometimes myself and it works for me.
Post your experiance please, we like to hear from you.
