hi davina mine hasnt calmed down yet actually im fuming i phoned rheumatology to discover that my rheumatologist has left the department me and all her other patients have been left in the lurch so as usual when i need her she is never bloody there anyway never mind. my symptoms are i get pain everywhere that jumps example i woke up it was in my feet now its in my hands later might be in upper arms or back i sleep at night sometimes wake up in early hours and am knackered the next day or even if i do get a good night i dont feel refreshed when i wake up i get horrid mood swings i find it difficult to concerntrate at work one symptom i have recently discovered is sometimes when writing i forget which letter goes where and i thought i was just forgetful and didnt worry i looked up fibro symptoms incase it was my arthritis and not fibro and it said that sometimes when writing suffers often find they make mistakes and cant always remember which letter goes where because messages to the brain get jumbled up. hope this helps

Hi Both, I have RA and recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The fibro was waking me up as well and it also jumps from one place to another. My last flare up was horrendous because the consultant was pressing all the fibro trigger points and by the time I had got home it was as if an ON switch had been switched on. Massive flareup all over. My gp next day gave me diazepam for a week and also Norotryptiline one every night indefinately. Its an antidepressant and similar to amitryptiline but it does not make me sleepy next day for work. It has helped. Maybe you could ask about some for you. I get all foggy headed as well, it comes with the fibro my gp confirmed. Hope this helps. Gillian

I was diagnosed with Fibro a couple of years back I also have Osteoarthritis. The Rhuemie said there were no other meds for Fibro apart from Amytriptyline [ which I was already on ] and I was devastated to think that at age 56 I would have to live with this condition. In desperation I went to see my GP [ who does support that Fibro does actually exist - a lot of them don't ]. She said there is indeed meds for Fibro and prescribed me Gabapentin. Now this is a med really for epilepsy so I didn't hold out much hope BUT I have found it a lifesaver. No more ' random ' sharp pains !! I still get very tired though and have accepted that I can't do much which is really depressing but there are worse things I suppose.
