Subject: Air travel with anti-tnf
Hi I am going to be starting anti-tnf (cimzia) in the next couple of weeks and am planning to go on a trip overseas in feb for a month, the flight will be at least 9hrs. I'll probably have to bring 2 doses of cimzia with me which need to be kept refrigerated at all times. Does anyone have any tips on the best gadget to keep it cold while I'm traveling ? I'll see if the airline can refrigerate it while on the plane but what about cool-bags or thermos boxes ?? Any advice greatly appreciated! Happy Christmas Nicola

Hi Nicola, if you give your airline a call they will advise you as to what you should do. They are very helpful with medical issues. Hope this helps. Take Care, by the way are you going anywhere warm?

Hi Nicola, I was on Cimzia and think I was told by the pharmacist at the healthcare company that provided it that a lunch cool bag with those gel blocks should be ample. I would ring them to check. Also, you can buy small cool packs and wrapping things in newspaper helps too.

Hi Nichola My drugs are supplied by Healthcare at Home. I rang them for advise and bought a specially made cool (shoulder) bag from them. It lasted for up to ten hours. Then I had to get it straight in to a fridge. You do need to get a drug alert card for customs though. Good luck!
