Hi, I am due to start embrel within the next 2 weeks and wondering what to expect in terms of benefits and side effects. I would love to hear from people that have been helped with it

Hi Rhona I started Enbrel about 10 weeks ago, no side effects apart from injection site irritation. This has been like a wonder drug for me, I have not got a pain or an ache since I started on it, its like magic. I hope it does the same for you. Take Care Marion

hi rhona i started embrel about 4 weeks ago and as marion says ive had no side affects except inj site, but only 1 side for me. the best thing is the pain seems to have gone which to me is a major thing as for some reason this affects me more than not being able to do something that we take as for granted, like lifting a kettle to make a cuppa. hope it makes a differance for you. take care gary

I am waiting to start on it too Rhona. I'm going on a half dose (I think) because I got a lot of infections on Cimzia. I'm waiting to see a chest consultant to make sure my lungs are ok. Glad to hear it is working well for you Gary. Gives us all hope!

Thanks Rhona, same to you. I'm seeing a specialist for my chest as I got continual infections on Cimzia (another anti tnf) and have mild asthma. Still going ahead with the Enbrel though as can't take this limited mobility much longer. Let me know how you get on. xx

Well best of luck Rhona. With Cimzia they doubled the starting dose for first 3 doses. I felt an improvement very quickly. xx
