Subject: Itching.
Hi posted on here a while ago thought I may have RA but all blood tests negative, now been told it's general old age pain. I am on naproxen already for arthritis in my spine and neck but it is not helping the rest of my pain or fatigue. Some days I can cope others I just want to stay in bed away from it all. I have for the last few months developed itchy skin on my legs and elbows which will not go away, could this be connected. My GP won't refer me to a specialist.

Hiya Marge:) Try and see another GP at your surgery and demand that they refer you to a Rheumatologist. Not everyone who has RA have it diagnosed from the blood tests GPs do, mine came back normal for 2 years and was made to feel that I was basically swinging the lead. It took for me to crawl into the surgery on an emergency appt for a doctor to refer me. At my specialist appt he told me straight away that he thought I had RA, did bloods etc. A month later he diagnosed seropositive RA. One of the questions my Rheummy asked me was relevant to itching, which I am lucky doesn't happen to me. So Marge make an appt at your GP and demand your right to see a consultant:) take care xx
