Subject: UK Government Petition for Rheumatoid 'Arthritis' sufferers.
Hello, My name is Gemma K Nicholls.
I am a Published Author of the book Fighting Rheumatoid.
I have made it my lifes work to do all I can to raise awareness for the illness Rheumatoid.
I have my own campaign on facebook: Campaign For An Official Awareness Day, I currently have 600+ members Worldwide.
I am now running a UK Government e-petition for the word Arthritis to finally be removed from the name Rheumatoid 'Arthritis'.
I have to get 100,000 people to sign for it to then be considered in The House Of Commons.
If you can help me in any way to pass this petition around and to get fellow Rheumatoid sufferers to sign I would be so very grateful.
As you know, Every Rheumatoid sufferer want the word Arthritis to be removed, and hopefully be re-named the disease it is. Rheumatoid Auto-Immune Disease.

I'm not entirely sure I agree with this stance. In lots of ways the word 'arthritis' helps people understand the pain and mobility issues we have with RA. In spite of the odd comment of 'Oh I've got a bit of arthritis' which can be annoying I can't see a down side to the name Rheumatoid Arthritis. Also, lots of us have sero-negative RA which doesn't necessarily mean they test for positive auto-immune tests so it would not help with our diagnosis, though the disease and the treatment course is pretty much the same. Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease would some up the distinction between other arthritic conditions and RA. I would be interested to know why you want the name change.
