Subject: chielectomy

Has anyone had a chielectomy on their foot? I had one to remove a boney lump off the top of my right foot. I am 10 days post op and feel pretty good. I have to have my bandage off on Monday. I don't know what type of stitches were used but expect this to be painful! After that I am wondering how much more time I will need off work. My job involves a lot of driving and I also work in a secure unit where I need to be able to run out of trouble at times! What do people think? Is it normal to ask your consultant for the amount of time you think you need or do they tend to decide? This is my first op for arthritis so I would be interested in any info or hearing about other people's experiences. Thanks.
