Subject: polyarthralgia
hi, i am looking for some advice on child polyarthralgia, my daughter is 7 and for the past 2 years she has had severe pain in both knees, both hips ankles, lower back and spine, over the past month she has been getting alot of pain in her wrists aswell. she always has a very high temp when this happens, it starts when she wakes up, and as the day goes they get less painful. i have to carry her up and down the stairs and into and out of the car, she is always very tired, she quite often comes home from school and goes to bed. i have been to her doctor who wasnt very helpful, he thought she may have been making it up! he then sent her for blood tests to see if she had ra, it came back negative, i went t see him yesterday, and he said he will send her for more blood tests to see if its polyarthralgia, i was wondering if anyone thinks this could be the problem? i dont know much about it to be honest. also i should have said, her joints are often red and hot to touch, but are not always swollen, i would be very gratefulk for any feed back

Hello It saddens me so much to read of children suffering like this, you really must push the doctor to do more. Google Arthritis Care, go on the forum there, they have a section for parents who's children have arthritis. It's free to join, there is also a free helpline for advice. You could also ringing up National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, they have a help line to. Good luck and hope you get some answers soon.
