Subject: early stage RA are CRP and ESR levels always high?

In early stage RA, are levels of ESR and CRP always mega high? I was curious. Thanks xx

Hiya Julie, my levels are repeatedly just at the high point of the range so not majorly high and yet my hands, shoulders and feet are always twice their normal size..... it's a mystery. xx

there are lots of threads on this, I'll try and find some and boot them up. Mine were high but not mega high.

It is just that mine were 12.9 for CRP and ESR was 17 at last testing, before I started DMARDS and steriods. Yet rheumy strongly suspected RA saying this is what I think you have.

Hi Julie, For the first year of my RA my ESR at its highest point was 103 and my CRP was 89.
I take MTX and it now ESR ranges around 25-29 and CRP 15-17.
