Subject: Oh Please , give me strenght
if I hear one more time OA is what old people get, yes they do poor things. I had my first sugery for OA at 35yrs old i consider this to be fairly young. At the time i was unaware that the surgery was for this i thought it was tennis elbow alone. I was told after surgery oh it was a lot worse than we tought and you have 12 clips rather than the three stiches we estimated. I was in a lot of pain so just nodded. It is only in the past four years OA has been mentioned I have had spinal surgery for a slipped disc also, not very successful, but i have been since told this is due to the OA they couldn't repair.I have OA in shoulder hands wrists two points in my spine and knee. It is painful most days and more surgery is what i have to look forward to.I am 60yrs old now and still have a lot of living i want to do.I don't feel old only when i'm in pain.(LOL).I have dealt with this for years carried on bringing up my family and working, just like most of you.When will people learn if you have nothing constructive to say then say nothing. I don't want anyone feeling sorry for me,bending over backwards to run around after me (wish i could bend over backwards) just a little bit of thought before they open their mouths and let the rubbish flow. My neighbour is 72 and has had two knee replacements and the comment was actually made about her. She is so lovely and managing very well. I can feel all she goes through and it is so hurtful to hear anyone be so negative about any form of Artritis. Sorry about the rant, i have never told a neighbour i have OA, i don't want sympathy i just want them to treat me the same as they always have.I like to get on with it alone apart from close friends and my family. Well i have finished sorry its so long i needed to get it out of my system. Take care all and have a good day X
