Subject: Does prednisolone ease stiffness?

I wanted to ask whether prednisolone eases stiffness? May sound a daft question, I was just curious, as my stiffness which has been slight in mornings and worse after rest in day/night, has significantly improved and now i am weaning off steriods and down to 20mg for the next 2 weeks from 30mg, then down to nothing by end of septenber when I next see rheumy.
Did others find this too?
Thanks in advance xx

Hi Julie, yes steroids do improve stiffness. I finished my tablets three weeks ago, reducing from 80mg daily to nothing but am finding already the stiffness is returning. I had a slow release steroid injection two days ago which is now starting to kick in. Its a very good drug but has serious implications if too high a dose for too long a period. One to be treated with respect but equally a life saver at times. Gillian
