Subject: Fluid on the Lung

Hi my name is Peter i am 62 years old and had fluid on my right Lung three years ago i had to have an operation called Pleurodesis shortly after this i was diagnosed with RA.

I was prescribed Methotrexate had this for about a year at which time i started to get every bug going, losing my hair and got the most horrendous cough.

I stopped this drug and was prescribbed sulfasalazine 6 tablets (1.5grams b.d.) daily this was okay for just over a year and i started to get unwell again i have just had fluid on my other Lung which hopefully is just starting to sort out after 4 months of hell with every sort of antibiotic and steroid tablets and injections.

Has anybody else suffered this fluid on the Lungs related to RA??

Any comments and help will be much appreciated.
